Privacy and cookies

This notice covers the Venue Watch public website, business enquiries and invitation-only research pilot.

Who is responsible

Dasher Consulting Ltd owns and operates Venue Watch and is the controller for these activities. Registered in England and Wales, company number 14222363. Write to 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, or email hello@venue.watch.

Public examples and enquiries

The public postcode, radius and graph examples run in your browser using fictional information. Those example choices are not submitted as a real research job. Public page code does not load optional analytics or advertising pixels. Contact links open your email application; you review and send the message yourself. We receive the information you choose to email and use it to respond, arrange a conversation and discuss an engagement. Making an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Please describe the question first and do not send confidential records or sensitive personal information before arrangements are agreed.

Private pilot access

The invitation-only pilot uses Microsoft sign-in. It records an authorised account identity and display name, session and security information, and research briefs submitted by that account. Submitting a private brief can send its postcode to the configured lookup service when that service is enabled; this is separate from the public fictional example. Pilot access, permitted research and any delivery are scoped separately. Payments remain disabled.

Necessary sign-in cookies support secure access. A login flow expires after ten minutes and a pilot session after eight hours. Expiry is distinct from removal of stored security or pilot records. Signing out clears the pilot session. Public examples do not require sign-in.

Purposes and reasons

Our legitimate interests are responding to business enquiries, operating a secure invited pilot and investigating agreed research questions. We limit information to those purposes and consider the interests of the people involved. Where we take steps towards or perform a contract with an individual, we use the contractual basis; legal obligations apply to required business records. We do not sell personal information or use these pages to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Providers and locations

Vercel hosts the website and processes technical request information, such as network address, browser details, requested URL and time, for delivery and security. Microsoft provides business email, identity and Azure storage used by the pilot. Access is limited to authorised people and necessary providers; relevant records may also be disclosed to professional advisers or authorities where required. Provider processing can take place outside the UK. Relevant restricted transfers require applicable adequacy arrangements or contractual safeguards; contact us for details of the safeguards for your information. This site does not promise UK-only processing.

Retention

We keep enquiry and pilot records for the period needed to answer the enquiry, manage the agreed pilot or relationship, maintain security and resolve relevant legal or contractual matters. We review whether a record is still needed against those purposes. Technical logs, backups and provider security records follow the relevant provider arrangements. Contact us about a particular record or to request deletion. Expired access does not automatically delete all pilot records.

Your right to object

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@venue.watch with the activity you want reviewed. We consider your circumstances and stop unless an applicable reason permits the processing to continue.

Other rights and questions

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. We may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office without contacting us first. Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but we need a reply address and enough context to respond.
